VALENTINO HAUTE COUTURE IN NEW YORK

On Wednesday December 10th about 500 lucky somebody's gathered in Manhattan's Madison Avenue to watch Valentino's exclusive one-off Haute Couture collection. It was Valentino's first show in New York in celebration of the house's brand new Fifth Avenue flagship. The show was full of turtlenecks, lace dresses, mini skirts, delicate tulle blouses, ruffled necks, embroidery and cashmere. It hinted 60's vibes, Solange wedding dress style capes, sleek and modernistic designs and boho lacey-ness. But I think the most striking part of the collection entitled 'Sala Bianca 945' is that it was all white. It was beauty and grace from start to end. Oh, and the snow falling outside just made it all the more romantic.

ALIVE

Hi? It's been a little while I guess. Time flies, even when you're not having fun all the time. Sometimes I've been getting a bit worried about how fast time is flying. Best friends are moving countries soon, I won't have a structured institution to guide me through life 5 days a week in less than 100 days. But I think I'm finding this exciting. I find myself talking to my best friends all too often about how this huge chapter of our life is about to close and we're about to embark on this crazy adventure and direct our lives in any way that we want. It's a huge idea to grasp in my (what I feel is still) tiny and naive brain and I still just don't really know what to think about it.

biKIINI

First time I saw these on my fave girl Alexandra Spencer aka the notorious 4th and Bleeker (see 1, 2, 3 and 4) I fell in love immediately. Maybe it was because of her bod, or maybe it was just the sheer fact that these bikinis were meant for me. Each handmade pair of Kiini bikinis supposedly have super powers and the point you put them on, it changes your life. Don't quote me on that one (or maybe do?). They come in every colour of the rainbow - navy blue, grey, royal blue, white, and white again, yellow, peach and black. Now I just need the sun and warmth to come around again..

This past weekend I've been sifting through uni courses, finishing maths homework, the usual year 12 highschooler deal. With 136 only day left until my valedictory I'm starting to realise why everyone says that "year 12 is the best year" but "it goes so quickly". It's quite scary, really, the idea of having to go off on your own. I don't feel like I know enough yet to actually go out there, to uni or travelling, whatever ends up being my life. Actually, I don't know if I could do a whole other 5 or so years of learning in small room from power points and worksheets. Travelling the world is where I see myself. I've recently been obsessed with going to Brazil, but New York has always been my dream city, and I want to Europe to be able to see friends and explore so many different countries. The options are endless, but to put the future on pause for a second I'm going to rewind back a bit to last summer, where it was beaches and friends and sunsets and pretty skies...
